These documentaries could and probably will change your life. They’re wonderful, powerful and insightful movies. I hope you find them as fascinating as I did.
If you have any interest in yoga and you’re a woman Yogawoman is a must see. I stumbled across it just as I started my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher’s Training, which was of course perfect timing. Narrated by Annette Benning, the movie is heartfelt and brilliantly researched. It includes interviews with all the great women of yoga, Sharon Gannon, Seane Corn, Colleen Saidman Yee, Patrica Walden to name a few. If I ever forget why I became a yoga teacher I just watch this for a few minutes and then I remember. I love it.
My fourteen year old daughter (a dedicated vegan) suggested I watch Cowspiracy. It will blow your mind. If you care about the environment or just want to know what the hell is going on, watch this!! It’s chock full of reports and statistics that will educate you, make your blood boil and make you wonder how all this has been hidden for so long. You’ll want to leap off the sofa and do something radical before we completely wreck the earth.
Interested in knowing what’s in your food, what effect it’s designed to have on your body, wondering why you’re not losing weight? think you’re doing the right thing for your health? If I were you I’d watch Hungry for Change – I did – twice. It’s brilliant. Lots of big names (Jamie Oliver, Joe Cross, Dr Christiane Northrup, Dr Alejandro Junger and many more) I highly recommend this, it’s guaranteed to make you more mindful about your food and make you kinder towards yourself. Two noble actions:)
Watch out with this, it’s only fair to warn you. Once you see Forks Over Knives there’s no going back, I doubt you’ll be enjoying a juicy steak again for a long time. But that’s the point of this movie, just don’t say I didn’t warn you. You’re going to LOVE vegetables:)
Let me know what you think. Have you already seen them? did they change your life? how?
